Built to Amplify the Unheard
Illume is a children-centred, inclusive art initiative harnessing therapeutic and developmental arts to address critical well-being, learning, and social inclusion gaps among children across Ghana.
Grounded in evidence-based art therapy, developmental psychology, and adaptive education frameworks, Illume operates across all childhood developmental stages, from early childhood through adolescence, while maintaining a dedicated focus on children with disabilities, mental health challenges, and those in vulnerable circumstances.
Aligned with UNICEF's global mandate and Ghana's National Child and Family Policy, Illume occupies a distinct position as the first initiative in Ghana to integrate clinical art therapy, adaptive arts education, community exhibition, and mobile outreach into a single, scalable programme.
